BA Economics Honours

The BA Economics Honours program aims to build strong theoretical & practical understanding, critical thinking and analytical skills to analyze economic issues from local to global perspectives, preparing graduates for careers in government, private sectors or further studies, with goals including economic literacy, problem-solving and ethical awareness, potentially with specializations like Foreign Trade or Islamic Finance.

Program Goals (Aims & Objectives):

• Economic Understanding: Provide fundamental economic concepts, theories and methodologies, covering core areas like micro/macroeconomics, public/international economics.
• Analytical Skills: Develop the ability to critically evaluate economic situations, understand interconnections, gauge policy impacts and apply economic theories.
• Problem-Solving: Equip students to address local and global socio-economic problems with practical, informed strategies.
• Contextual Awareness: Foster understanding of social, political and institutional influences on economic issues, with relevance to India and Kerala.
• Research & Application: Encourage empirical skills, research and innovative solutions through project work and application of digital tools.
