The department conducts many socially relevant programmes in and outside the campus as part of the observance of important and socially ornationally relevant days. WAR & PEACE is a such an initiative of the department in association with the Excise Department to fight against the evils of Drugs and alcohol. The department join hands with the NGOs and other government departments for collaborative programmes.
The activities of the department include Day observances, Celebrations and awareness campaign on different occasions such as World Population Day, World Paper Bag Day, World Youth Skill Day, International Day for Social Justice, Kargil Vijay Diwas, World Tribal Day, International Youth Day, National Teachers Day, World Suicide prevention Day, International Day for Peace, World Mental Health Day, International Day of Girl Child, International Day for Eradication of Poverty, World Tolerance Day, World AIDS Day, International Day for Person with Disability, World Human Rights Day, International Day for the Elimination of all Kinds of Violence against Women (Orange the world campaign), World Social Justice Day, International Mother Language Day, World NGO Day, International Yoga Day, International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking and World Social Work Day in March every year.
