The Department of Psychology offers a Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) leading to a BSc (Honours) in Psychology, designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This comprehensive programme combines foundational knowledge, disciplinary depth, interdisciplinary exposure and practical training to develop a holistic understanding of the human mind and behavior.
The curriculum is structured to provide students with a progressive learning experience across eight semesters, encompassing core psychological theories, experimental methods, statistical analysis, counseling techniques and emerging areas such as health psychology and organizational behavior. With a strong emphasis on experiential learning, students engage in lab work, field visits, internships and research projects.
The FYUGP in Psychology equips students with analytical thinking, research aptitude and communication skills, preparing them for careers in mental health, education, human resources, social services and further academic pursuits in psychology and allied disciplines.
