Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the B.A. Sociology programme, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of sociological concepts, theories and methods to critically analyse social structures, institutions and processes.
- Apply sociological perspectives to explore issues related to gender, caste, class, religion, ethnicity, globalization and social change.
- Conduct independent research using qualitative and quantitative methods, and present findings through academic writing and presentations.
- Understand the relevance of sociology in addressing contemporary social challenges and contributing to public policy, community development and social justice.
- Engage with diverse communities through fieldwork, internships and outreach, fostering empathy, inclusivity and social responsibility.
- Develop analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills applicable to careers in education, social work, public administration, research, media and NGOs.
